Harvard Medical School
Project: Human Variation Omnibus - Application Interface Design

Overview: The Bioinformatics Department at Harvard Medical School is working on a long-term project archiving and cataloguing all Genetic Research Data and Research. The project we were hired to work on involved designing a Logo for the project as well as an aesthetic look-and-feel standard for the DSpace Application Interface. DSpace is an Open Source application created by MIT students, typically used for creating online libraries.

Creative: We based our color template and logo design on the Harvard red and font style used in the school's crest. In our graphic elements we utilized DNA and cellular imagery to create a scientific and research graphic statement.

Technical: Hatchling was required to create and modify Cascading Style Sheets and .JSP files in order to bring our design into the DSpace application environment. The final version of the logo we created was provided to the client in both web and print resolutions for use in offline materials.
